Before & After: Harsh Was Facing Difficulty in Practicals. He Left with 87% in CBSE Std 12 Computer
Harsh could write theory answers but his practical code never ran. Here is the before and after of how that changed at VD Computer Tuition.
Before: Theory Strong, Practicals Zero
Harsh came to me in October 2025 with a specific problem. His school internal theory marks were decent — 68%, 72%. But every time he had a practical session, his code would not compile. He would submit half-finished programs and lose marks he should have had.
“I know the logic in my head. I just cannot make it work on the screen,” he said at our first meeting.
This is one of the most common things I hear. Knowing the algorithm and executing it are two separate skills. School classes teach the first. Almost none teach the second.
What We Fixed
We spent the first month on one thing only: getting Harsh comfortable enough that his hands could keep up with his brain.
No new concepts. Just the programs he already knew — written again, and again, under time pressure. He had to write a class with inheritance from scratch in fifteen minutes. Then ten. Then seven.
The second month, we introduced his weak spots: file handling and function overloading. We treated each like a practical exam. Problem on the board, thirty minutes, compile and run.
By December, Harsh was writing programs faster than he was thinking about syntax. That is the target.
After: 87% in CBSE Std 12 Board Exams
CBSE Std 12 results, April 2026: 87% in Computer Science.
Theory: 83/100. Practical: 48/50.
“The practical exam felt easy compared to what we practiced in class. I finished early and checked my code twice,” Harsh told me after results.
He is now pursuing Computer Engineering at a college in Surat. The foundation is there.
